Thoughts on a new web-site

As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, I have been working on re-designing this site. Rather than just making it a better looking site, I thought I would go ahead and make it a project, a goal.

So, I decided to use WordPress – the defacto blogging software – as my entire web management system (usually called a Content Management System or CMS).

I’ve worked with several true CMS systems in the past – things like Joomla, Mambo, Drupal and mod-X). But all these systems seemed to be confusing and non-intuitive to me. And, if I seem to get confused by them, then end users, my clients will definately as well.

So, I started off on this project to see what it would look like to use WordPress – which meets my two goals: free and easy – as my CMS. As you can see, I’m getting a lot done. I’ll post back soon with my thoughts…
